His first instructor was Sensei Art Campbell who operated the Jackson Jujutsu Kai in Jackson, New Jersey. Learning both Kodakan Judo and Jujutsu was an excellent introduction into this fascinating world. “Sensei Campbell was a real gentleman, excellent technician and a good role model.”

The Dragon Tiger Kung Fu Center was Long Island’s first Authentic Kung Fu School, established in 1981. Originally opened in Hewlett, NY and then Northport, NY, it is now located in Smithtown, NY and serve all of Long Island, including Nassau County and Suffolk County.

Kyokushin Karate New York City is the only Headquarters- Direct branch of the I.K.O. Kyokushinkaikan outside of Japan. This school was officially authorized by Grand Master Mas Oyama in 1994 and Shihan Katsuhito Gorai was the last Branch Representative to be appointed personally by the legendary founder himself before his untimely death that same year.

The Bond Street Dojo (incorporated as New York Aikido Society, Inc., Inc.) is a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of directors elected from and by the membership. Instead of paying for individual lessons, students pay monthly membership dues. All students assist in the maintenance of the dojo.

Shidogakuin is a Kendo organization that includes many affiliated dojos along the east coast, including: New York City, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and Washington, DC. Chintokan teaches Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do which originated in Okinawa, Japan. The documented history of current Shorin-Ryu karatedo tradition begins in Shuri, Okinawa, at some point in the 1800s by Sokon Matsumura (1809~1899), a leading Shuri-Te (one of three original Ryukyu Kenpo) master of his time. Beyond that, the unbroken lineage of Shorin-Ryu can be traced all the way back to the Okinawan lords, nobles and bodyguards of the Ryukyu Kingdom era in the 16th century. However, in those days, Shorin-Ryu karate was simply known as "Tea," or "Hand." Tea is Okinawa pronounciation for hand(s).
